July 30th 2015: Thought of the Day

“Never overlook the power of simplicity”

I just began reading The Monk who sold his Ferrari tonight, and I am so enthralled with it that I could NOT sleep and had to share something from it right away. Stay tuned for the upcoming book review.

This quote resonated with me because it has been something that I have been struggling with. Like many type A perfectionists one of the biggest impediments towards becoming the best that I can be is paralysis by analysis. I get so worked up about following the “perfect” route of action, that I forget the most important aspect of success. Taking action.

Remember, when you begin to feel overwhelmed, take a step back, and focus on the ONE thing you need to do right now. Nothing great occurs overnight. It is the result of simple actions being repeated consistently. So when you notice you are not taking action in lieu of planning, focus on the one thing that needs to be done NOW.
